Jardin Harmony

The beginning of Renaissance & Friends. It all started with a story. And maybe not the show and tell kind… but the one you find on the internet. Manotic Farm Flowers is an Ontario based flower shop specializing in (absolutely stunning) arrangements. So, once again I asked to use a photo of her bouquet as a reference which began the Renaissance & Friends collection.

I once received a comment remarking the darkness in my work, how the colours were not bright and flashy. So I took a look around and realized… that observation was correct. And rather than facing it I ran away. I made all of my work as flashy and “happy” as possible, but the reality was, my art was not distasteful or inauthentic in the beginning, it was unrefined. I had not honed in my skill or opened up to share the heart behind the art. And now I know that all along there was beauty in SPITE OF the darkness. The beauty is held in the fact that darkness will always surround, yet I choose to create something beautiful, something meaningful, and something that will highlight the goodness of God while in tragedy, rather than after it has already passed.
