Will They Accept Me?

Will They Accept Me?

I was tired of being rejected.

I didn't fit in with the free love, crystal hippies, and the established Christians were closed off.

So what was I to do?

QUIT.

Well, no, we already went through that phase last year, Jasmine. You need to pick up the slack. PERSEVERE.

Ahhh fine. I prayed and worked hard to build good relationships in my church and hometown. After all, it's not what you know.. It's who you know, right?

I played around with a few different career option changes or pivots I could make in the business, but what it came down to was authenticity. And we see this broadcasted online in a way that is over the top and capitalizes on human suffering. I don't want a pity party. I want others to see the goodness of God even through he dry season. Or the times when it's pouring rain... in a tornado with an avalanche crashing over you... ok that's a little extreme, but you get the point haha.

I want you to see the beauty in the mundane

And to experience goodness in the midst of hurting

Life isn't usually mutually exclusive. Especially when it comes to emotions. Joy and grief can be held in the same heart at the very same moment. Beauty and dread can be beholden while your head is confused about what to do next. Excitement and overwhelming awe can be breathed in the same breath. And to all of these I can attest.

So what do I do next?

Well, incorporate what I love and who I love into my work.

~ God, Flowers, Family

And incorporate sentiments and stories that have impacted me and will resonate with you.

Oh, and did I mention I've taken on a love for writing, music, and poetry?
