The Poem Of Life

The Poem Of Life

Hey friend,

Thanks so much for tuning into the written episodes of my life. I've enjoyed sharing more about my heart behind this ministry of creativity, and I hope each installment shows you the power and glory of the Cross of Jesus Christ.

"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Quite often, I refer to my faith in Christ and my loyal dependence on Him and His rule over my life, but as my reach grows, I would like to present the living God I serve to those who are unfamiliar with Christianity.

Once upon a time...

Haha, just kidding. Christians can be funny too ;)

Over 2000 years ago, a man named Jesus was born of a virgin, Mary, in the town of Bethlehem. He was God incarnate- or in other words, in the flesh- which means He was perfect. During the 33 years of Christ's life, He served and taught in the temple, chose 12 disciples (1 of whom betrayed Him) performed miracles, fulfilled prophecy, and changed the course of the world by dying on the cross for the forgiveness of our sin.

SIN

A word no one likes. It makes humans uncomfortable and repulsed. But the reality is we need a mediator.

The world was created by God and for God in 6 days, and on the 7th he rested. Adam and Eve were the first of mankind to grace the earth, but with all of the freedom that God gave them in the garden of Eden, the beautiful paradise He had made for them to govern, they were given one boundary. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They were instructed not to eat the fruit of that tree, but through temptation and the lust of the eyes and desire of the heart, Eve ate and gave the forbidden fruit to Adam. This breach of conduct opened their eyes to good and evil and separated their perfectly right standing with God.

Now, a sacrifice must be made to repair the metaphorical bridge between God and man. God is perfect. Men and women are not. In the years leading up to Christ's coming, God appointed prophets to lead His People, but the sacrifice that must be made for God's elect was too great for a sinful man to fulfill through sacrifice, fasting, and praying. So God sent His only, perfect Son for the propitiation of our sins.

He lived the life we could never live, and died the death we rightfully deserved.

"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. " Romans 10:9

And this is why I rejoice;

"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure," Hebrews 6:19

And I pray that you will too
